ViewSonic's ViewPad 10 Gets Android 2.2 Update

ViewSonic this week announced details on how ViewPad 10 owners can update their dual OS solution to Android 2.2!

The 10.1-inch ViewPad 10 comes packed with the Intel Atom 1.66GHz processor, 2GB of memory (expandable), built-in Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and 1.3 megapixel built-in front camera. Including both Windows 7 and Google Android within the same device, you can use Flash-based programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat, along with all the fun entertainment apps offered on the Android 2.2 platform.

ViewSonic's Dual-Boot ViewPad 10 Now Available

ViewSonic on Monday announced that the ViewPad 10, a 10.1-inch dual-boot tablet that supports both Windows 7 and Android, is now available. It features a capacitive multi-touch 1024x600 LCD screen, high speed Intel Atom 1.66GHz processor, 2GB of memory, and a 1.3 megapixel webcam.

Use the Windows 7 option to access Flash-based content and programs like Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Switch to Android 1.6 for applications like Facebook, Twitter, fast web surfing and more. Connectivity options include built-in Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, mini VGA port and Micro SD slot (for up to 32GB expandable memory).

The ViewPad 10 is now available, running Android 1.6 and either Windows 7 Home Premium (with a 16GB SSD hard drive - $599) or Windows 7 Professional (with a 32GB SSD hard drive - $679). Visit ViewSonic.com for more information.

Windows 7 Phone Series Announced

You knew it was coming. Today at Mobile World Congress, Microsoft announced the Windows Phone 7 Series. The new Windows Phone 7 Series will offer Xbox LIVE games, Zune music and videos, Microsoft Office, a dedicated "Bing" button and more.

On the Start screen, "live tiles" show you real-time content allowing you to create a tile of a friend, and get up-to-date pictures and posts from your friend, just by glancing at Start.

HP Offers Customers Free Upgrade to Microsoft Windows 7

June 26, 2009 -- HP just announced it will offer the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system on consumer and business PCs beginning Oct. 22.

To meet customers' computing needs while protecting their investments, the company is participating in the Windows Upgrade Option Program to help customers transition easily to Windows 7. The program will enable customers who purchase qualifying HP PCs to enjoy the benefits of a new Windows-based PC immediately and receive a free(1) upgrade to Windows 7 when it becomes available in October.

Customers who purchase an HP PC starting today may be eligible for the upgrade program.
