hExistentialism ver 1.1 – Review

 hExistentialism ver 1.1

hExistentialism (hEx) is a very unique puzzle game, developed by Ayumusoft. You are given a layout with 21 tiles. Each tile has a background color, design, shading (all, half or no color) and position (up or down). The object is to score points and clear out the tiles by matching either a tile with a single design to a tile with a similar double design, to a tile with a similar triple design; or you could match up three tiles with the same design or same color or position… etc.; there's actually quite a few ways to match up the various tiles. The included tutorial went over 8+ different ways to match up these tiles.

As you clear out the tiles, you'll gain points and you can add random tiles into the newly created blank spaces to help further drive up your score, but you'll lose your score multiplier. The tiles don't have to be touching one another either. You just touch the tile with your finger and continue on. Read more

 Dead Space Extraction screenshot

Dead Space Extraction will tell the story of a handful of space colonists desperately struggling to escape from a horrific infection on the Aegis VII mining colony deep in the furthest regions of space.

You will play as the crew who fall victim to a mysterious contagion aboard the ship. Also, you will be introduced to Lexine, an important new heroine, who could be the crew's only hope for survival.

As a Nintendo Wii exclusive, Dead Space Extraction will push the hardware to new limits with its deep and polished visuals. This action-horror title will hit store shelves on September 29th. Currently, there is no information on the MSRP, but some speculate that it will be around $40-$50.

inFAMOUS (PS3 only) Review

 inFAMOUS

Among the awesome titles coming out this summer, one is a highly anticipated, hugely hyped "summer blockbuster." Does inFAMOUS live up to the hype? Or does it become another infamous bust?

Graphics

For a sandbox game, the environment is quite realistic and the explosions give a satisfying visual display. Considering the type of horsepower the PS3 offers, I expected more physic based interaction. Simply put, if I jump 10 stories off a building and land on a car, I expect it to be completely messed up, not look exactly the same before I landed on it.

Flight 666 Touches Down on Rock Band June 9

Iron Maiden master recordings made available as downloadable content for Rock Band Music Store for the first time

May 29, 2009 – Metal lovers take notice! Harmonix Music, the leading developer of music-based games, and MTV Games, along with distribution partner Electronic Arts Inc., today announced that 12 tracks from Iron Maiden, one of the world's most successful rock bands, will be added June 9 to the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system and the Wii system.

The release of these downloadable tracks coincides with the U.S. release of Flight 666 on Blu-ray and DVD as well as a double-CD soundtrack album and limited edition double-vinyl picture disc. Flight 666 documents the first leg of Maiden's legendary SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME WORLD TOUR, which took them 50,000 miles around the planet, playing 23 concerts on five continents in just 45 days. One of the stars of the movie is the band's customized Boeing 757, Ed Force One, which carried the band, all their crew and 12 tons of stage equipment and was piloted by Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson, a fully qualified and active Airline Captain with Astraeus Airlines.

Live recordings of "Aces High," "Hallowed Be Thy Name," "Fear of the Dark" and "Iron Maiden," featured on Flight 666, are among those available for download in the Rock Band Music Store June 9. The other eight songs were amongst those featured on the band's Somewhere Back in Time World Tour during the first leg of which Flight 666 was filmed. This will mark the first time master recordings from Iron Maiden have been made available on Rock Band games.Read more

Technically, there is no word on a price, but I'm pretty sure each individual song will cost you $1.99/200 Wii Points/160 MS Points; however, I have no idea on a bundle price.

Super Addictive Game, Sushi Go Round, gets Ported to the Wii and DS

 Sushi Go Round screenshot

Sushi Go Round is a very addictive game on MiniClip - www.miniclip.com/games/sushi-go-round/en/ - that has been picked up by SouthPeak Games. It will appear on the Nintendo Wii and DS systems this winter. The basis of the game is that you must run your own sushi restaurant, in which you must memorize recipes, prepare food, order fresh ingredients and – most importantly – work hard to keep the constant stream of customers happy.

The visuals, sound and animation will all be updated to provide a fresh new look to the game. SouthPeak Games has stated that they will add more to the game to increase its replayability. This will probably end up as a downloadable game.
