Microsoft Cuts Price of Xbox 360 Elite

 Xbox 360 Elite

Microsoft just announced that they are cutting the price of the Xbox 360 Elite by $100. With the price reduction, Microsoft's most expensive Xbox 360 system is now $299. This comes as no surprise, after all, Sony recently announced a price cut of $100 on their PlayStation 3 and unveiled a new, Slim Edition. This puts both units, the PS3 and Xbox 360 Elite, priced the same, $299.

According to the Associated Press, Microsoft will be phasing out the mid-range Pro version. It will be marked down from $299 to $249 (while supplies last). Microsoft will still be offering the cheapest Xbox 360, the Arcade, for $199. The price cuts are said to go into effect on Friday.

Review: Prototype for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC

 Prototype

System: PS3 (reviewed on), Xbox 360 and PC

The anit-inFamous title, Prototype has finally launched. Boasting a shape-shifting main character, many are excited to see just how malleable the character and gameplay really is.

Graphics

New York City is buzzing with many vehicles and pedestrians, but it still feels like something is missing. The city of New York looks decent, but considering what the current gen systems can accomplish, I felt a little let down. Don't get me wrong, Alex Mercer looks excellent and so does his various abilities, but the rest of the game definitely doesn't live up to par. However, with so much going on all at once, I never experienced any slowdown or graphical glitches, which would have pretty much crippled the gameplay.

FIFA 10 Dated and Detailed

 FIFA 10 screenshot

Launching October 2nd, FIFA 10 will be available on the DS, PC, 360, PS3, PS2, PSP and Wi.

Here are some improvements:

  • FIFA 10 promises to get rid of a few glitches found in 09: specifically, every once in a while, some players will do this weird backpedaling movement and get kind of "stuck" on the ball.
  • Some of 09's star players, like Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o and Manchester United's Christiano Ronaldo, among others, have been retooled, knocking them from "Godlike Supermen" to "normal dudes that happen to be good at kicking."
  • Team defensive A.I. has also been improved across all platforms.
  • EA Canada has also included a new, "360°" dribbling system, not sure how it will be different from the previous years, but it should be decent at least.
  • Training Mode is back! So if you need help on your corner kicks or free kicks, then you can practice outside of a game.
