Sony Gets Their Groove On
The new EyeToy: Groove for the Playstation 2 lets players dance in time with artists like Elvis, Madonna, Jessica Simpson, Jamiroquai, and Fatboy Slim, with no controller or dance pad. Simply link the EyeToy USB camera to a PlayStation 2, and appear live on TV and dance along with the on-screen prompts.
If playing solo, try out dance moves in One Player Mode, or choose to interact with on-screen special effects in the Chill Out Room. EyeToy: Groove also includes several multi-player options. In Tournament Mode players take turns to determine who has the best rhythm, reaction time and accuracy. Team Sync Mode allows friends to conquer the dance floor together, or with the Battle Sync Mode, dance together while being judged separately.
With the Video Message feature you can record personal messages onto a Memory Card that is sold separately. The Memory Card may also be used to save and replay photos and videos automatically captured while playing the various game modes. The EyeToy: Groove also includes a Calorie Counter, simply enter your weight and see how many calories you danced away.
EyeToy: Groove is scheduled for release in Spring 2004 and will be available for $49.99 with the EyeToy USB camera or $29.99 without. www.us.playstation.com
