Verizon Wireless announced Black Friday deals for this holiday weekend, one of them being the Gateway LT Netbook for just $29.99 (with 2-year agreement, after $100 mail-in rebate debit card). Weighing less than three pounds, the Gateway LT Netbook features a 10.1-inch screen, 160 GB RAM and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The tie-in campaign includes a customized television commercial directed by "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" director Michael Bay. An in-store consumer promotion with Verizon Wireless will also kick off nationwide. The promotion allows consumers to enter a sweepstakes automatically when they send Friends and Family one of three pre-recorded phone messages from Optimus Prime. As the grand prize, one winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Los Angeles to attend a screening of "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." The winner will also receive 10 LG phones for friends and family, a 55-inch LG television, and an LG Blu-Ray disc home theatre system.

Also, LG launched a movie-themed micro site, www.uncoverlg.com, which includes an engaging and interactive online game. To round out the already compelling campaign, LG announced earlier this year at CTIA their limited edition Versa for the movie tie-in. The phone will be available only through consumer promotions. Verizon Wireless and LG just announced a new touchscreen phone with customizable attachments – the LG Versa. Not only does this phone feature an attachable QWERTY keyboard, but the 3-inch diagonal display has an animated 3D interface and customizable home screens with three different layout options. There's also a full HTML Web browser that supports Flash and RSS you can keep up to three browser windows open at one time. Think that will slow the phone down? Think again.
