Stay Three and Fright Night's Free at Cheeca Lodge & Spa
Guests who take a vacation getaway at Cheeca Lodge & Spa, a RockResort in the Florida Keys, during Halloween Week will receive a very special "treat" if they book a four-night stay that includes Monday, October 31st. The resort is offering a four-night package for the price of three for any reservation beginning October 28th or ending on November 4th. There’s no "trick" involved just as long as the dates include Halloween night.
The "Fright Night Free" package will include accommodations, based on double occupancy, in a Deluxe Resort View Room for four nights with no charge on the guest’s statement for October 31st. Guests will be billed $289 per night for the other three nights and the resort will waive the $39 daily resort fee. Also included in the package will be a Halloween Party, October 31st on the beach adjacent to Cheeca’s most unusual landmark, a pioneer cemetery at the water’s edge right in the middle of the resort.
Cheeca just might be the only resort in the world that comes complete with its own graveyard! The original owners purchased land in the early 1900’s which included a small cemetery. In 1935, a hurricane devastated the area washing everything out to sea. The only thing left was a small stone statue of an angel that still rests in the rebuilt Pioneer Cemetery, located right next to the resort’s private beach. Cheeca’s historic cemetery may not have bodies but it does have tombstones, brought from other areas of Florida to preserve the memory of those who once rested there and even an angel to watch over them.
The Fright Night party will feature carved pumpkins along the beach, dry ice fog machine, spooky music and lighting as well as a local storyteller who will regale guests with true stories of the pioneering settlers from days gone by. A special Halloween-themed light buffet will be offered at the resort’s new Tiki Bar including a cauldron filled with a special Halloween libation. There will be a huge fire pit on the beach for toasting marshmallows and creating yummy s’mores for dessert. Fans of Monday Night Football won’t be “haunted” by the thought of missing the game since the Tiki Bar features a wide-screen plasma TV for their viewing entertainment.
