On Location TV and Movie Characters Tours
On Location Tours brings fans closer to their favorite on-screen characters.
Four separate tours are currently offered: a Manhattan TV and Movie Tour, a Sex and the City Tour, a Sopranos Tour, and a Central Park Movie Tour. Each is uniquely designed to highlight the locations, while at the same time inform and entertain. The tours are led by New York City actors and actresses who offer inside industry information; usually from a first-hand perspective.
The Manhattan TV and Movie Tour showcases over 80 locations from some of the most famous places seen on screen. Sites from Friends, Will & Grace, The Cosby Show, Ghostbusters, Spiderman, Woody Allen's Manhattan, Men in Black, Coyote Ugly, and You've Got Mail are featured.
The Sex and the City Tour includes over 40 locations where the women on the show live, shop, drink and dine. Locations include Carrie's apartment stoop, the Jimmy Choo boutique, Magnolia Bakery, Hotel Venus (the store owned by Patricia Field, head costume designer for the show), Charlotte's art gallery, and Steve and Aidan's bar.
New Jersey is the destination for the Sopranos Tour, covering over 40 locations from the hit show. The Bada Bing, Satriales, the Muffler Man and Pizzaland are some of the highlights. Tour guide Marc Baron has even appeared on the series!
For those interested in seeing New York by foot, the Central Park Movie Tour is a walking tour through the world-famous park, covering over 40 movie locations. These include the boathouse from When Harry Met Sally, the bandshell from Breakfast at Tiffany's, the fountain seen in Ransom and the rink used in Serendipity.
The bus tours take place on luxury buses, (air conditioned in summer and heated in winter). All tours include step-off locations for a quick bite to eat and photo opportunities. TV theme songs and video clips from the actual television shows and movies seen on the tour are part of the overall experience.
Reservations are required, and can be made by calling (212) 209-3370, or at www.screentours.com.
