Nevis Equestrian Centre Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Great Deals

This February, the Nevis Equestrian Centre is celebrating its 10th anniversary by running wild with discounts on horseback rides and lessons. The Centre is offering 10% off all individual rides and lessons from February 1st through 13th (corporate groups excluded) and, for something extra special, couples looking for a unique way to spend Valentine's Day can take a romantic horseback ride at a 50% discount on February 14th.

The most popular ride, combining both beach and trail, begins with a walk past Ft. Ashby, the first fort on the island built in 1650, leading riders to one of the many secluded beaches on Nevis. Along the way, riders pass Nelson's Spring, the site where Lord Admiral Nelson's crew collected fresh water for their ship. Turning east, the path leads slowly up the mountain slope to Paradise Estate, where there are ruins of a sugar mill as well as the estate homes at Four Seasons Resort Nevis. The ride then continues through the bush, above the Four Seasons' world-renowned golf course, to several grand local homes, through the village of Barnes Ghaut, and on to the village of Cotton Ground. Riders then return to the beach to stop, take pictures and observe the local fishermen at work, ending with a cool walk through a coconut grove. After returning to the stable, riders enjoy a refreshing tropical drink. For more information, contact the Nevis Equestrian Centre at (869) 469-8118.

The island of Nevis, where no building is higher than a palm tree is just eight miles long and six miles wide, yet it has a natural beauty that is unparalleled. Spanish explorers called Nevis, "Nuestra Senora de las Nieves" (Our Lady of the Snows) as a tribute to the white clouds surrounding the islands’ central volcanic peak. Nevis is a tranquil island paradise where relaxation is raised to an art form. For more information, contact the Nevis Tourism Authority at (869) 469-7550.
