Luxury in the Wilderness
Brooks Lake Lodge offers luxury accommodations and the ideal setting for an adventure vacation in the wilderness. The area offers spectacular wildlife viewing, hiking, horseback riding and pack trips and the many high mountain lakes, streams and rivers make for the perfect fly-fishing holiday. The lodge even offers a new children’s program.
The historic lodge located near Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Yellowstone National Park lies at 9,200 feet in a valley between the Pinnacle Mountains, the Continental Divide and the Wind River Mountains. Originally constructed in 1922, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and once served as a stopover for tourists on their way to visit Yellowstone National Park.
Brooks Lake Lodge is a fisherman’s and outdoor lover’s paradise. Crystal clear high-mountain lakes, spring fed streams and rivers provide anglers with many opportunities to fish for Brook, Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout. Guests may take an all day professionally guided trail ride to fish at one of the area’s hidden lakes or they may opt to practice their casting technique in the pond right outside their cabin door.
For guests in search of hiking opportunities Brooks Lake Lodge offers plenty of trails to choose from. Visitors may choose to participate in interpretive hikes lead by professional guides or they may opt to take a quiet solo excursion to summit the Pinnacles or to trek to Austin’s Peak, Brooks Mountain or the Jade Lakes. The guides lead interpretive hikes to promote safety and awareness and teach guests about the flora and fauna. The lodge provides a pack lunch with snacks and fresh water, and instruction on mountain safety.
For individuals in search of a more rustic experience the lodge offers guided pack trips to their wilderness camp. Cozy tents, comfortable cots, gourmet campsite cuisine and tons of fun are in store for guests on an adventurous wilderness pack trip. The guides and horses will provide a safe, pleasurable journey into the backcountry on dozens of beautiful trails through plentiful meadows and steep, rugged terrain. The trip offers visitors opportunities to view elk, deer, moose, big horn sheep and bald eagles from atop a mountain-bred trail horse.
Accommodations at the main lodge include seven tastefully appointed rooms furnished with handcrafted lodge-pole beds and pine furniture. Each room features private bathrooms and goose down comforters. Nearby, secluded mountain cabins tucked among the forest provide stunning views of the surrounding mountains. All are adorned with goose down comforters, private bathrooms, sitting areas, wood burning stoves and electric heat. Two new family cabins have been recently added to accommodate larger groups and families. These cabins are 1,200 square feet and include two bedrooms, two baths, a sitting room, a loft, and a private porch.
The lodge serves exquisite meals featuring regional fare in the newly remodeled dining hall. Here guests may enjoy evening meals by candlelight served with fine china, silver and crystal. High Tea is also offered in the lobby.
A vacation at Brooks Lake Lodge offers visitors the rare and the memorable—luxurious accommodations and an opportunity to encounter superlative scenery and pristine wilderness.
