Hotel Cipriani Turns Autumn into Playtime
Experienced travelers to Italy know that the
best time of all to travel is when crowds of tourists from every country on earth have
returned to their daily routines of work, school and other obligations. As
cooling temperatures create perfect weather and the busloads from the U.K.,
Germany and Japan drift away, autumn is the ideal time to visit the uniquely
beautiful and romantic city of Venice.
That is why the historic city's most famous place to stay, Hotel Cipriani, offers an "Autumn in Venice" vacation package. The package includes two nights' luxury accommodations in a junior suite, American breakfast served either in the room or from the restaurant buffet, welcome champagne and flowers upon arrival, reimbursement of the water taxi fare from Piazzale Roma, the Venice airport or railway station and two special meals. These include a romantic "a la carte" dinner at the highly regarded Cipriani Restaurant and a meal for two at the less formal but equally popular Cip's Club.
The price for Hotel Cipriani's "Autumn in Venice" package, available from October 13 through November 2, 2002, is Euros 1,138 per night, per couple. At current exchange rates, this translates to approximately $1,138.00.
The Hotel Cipriani and its adjoining Palazzo Vendramin and Palazzetto Nani-Barbaro are ideally situated with superb views across the entrance of the Grand Canal to the renowned St. Marks Square. Opened as a hotel in 1958 by famed restaurateur Guiseppe Cipriani, each of the hotel's 91 rooms and suites are appointed with every modern amenity, including air conditioning, mini bar, marble baths, hair dryers, satellite televisions and in-room safes. The Palazzo Vendramin, with a choice of private apartments, personal butler service and other luxurious amenities, is a 15th century residence linked to the hotel through an ancient courtyard and flowered loggia. Rooms in the newly restored Palazzetto Nani Barbaro offer breathtaking views of St. Mark's and its renowned piazza and the Doge's palace. Restaurants include the Cipriani, Cip's Club (in the Palazzetto), a poolside restaurant and Il Gabbiano Grill Bar.
