Holiday Inn SunSpree Resorts Introduces 'Dive-Inn' Movies

Beginning Memorial Day weekend, Holiday Inn SunSpree Resorts will cause a splash with the introduction of "Dive-Inn Movies" at participating properties in the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean. The family friendly resorts will host an evening poolside movie theater, providing guests with yet another free activity they can experience together when staying at the nation's only midscale family resort brand. Movie schedules will vary by property.

A December 2004 survey conducted by the American Society of Travel Agents found that nearly 96 percent of respondents said the top two influencers of family travel decisions are a destination with activities for all age groups and cost. Holiday Inn SunSpree Resorts properties offer something to entertain everyone in the family, from supervised activities for kids under the chain's standard KidSpree(SM) Activities program to movie and game rentals for the whole family. Some properties offer arcades, a Parents' Night Out, and even a kid's check-in desk. With the addition of the new "Dive-Inn Movies," which will feature the No. 7-grossing movie of 2004, "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie," and other SpongeBob SquarePants cartoon episodes, every member of the family will have a memorable vacation.

"Dive-Inn Movies" begin after sunset at each property on a nine-by-12-foot movie screen. The speakers and projection screen allow guests of all ages to pull up a lounge chair - or a raft - and watch the movies in a family friendly environment. Future plans to expand the program include running cable to the projection system for hotels to feature major sporting events or television programming.

"Dive-Inn Movies" are just one part of the "SunSpree Celebrates SpongeBob SquarePants" Nickelodeon partnership this summer, a result of the ongoing partnership between Nickelodeon and Holiday Inn. But Dive-Inn Movies are not just for summer - they'll continue to run based on the various hotels' seasonality and as weather permits.
