Best Advice: In-flight Exercise


Flyrobics video clipA handful of airlines -- including Lufthansa and Northwest -- are now showing videos that aim to stimulate and relax passengers from head to toe without leaving their seats. Lufthansa offers "Flyrobics," 10 minutes of computer-animated stretches for your whole body, while Northwest's "Airobics" features seven minutes of stretching and relaxation techniques. Richard Cotton, a San Diego exercise physiologist and spokesperson for the American Council on Exercise say's, "During long flights, muscles tighten and fluid builds up in the lower extremities. Muscle motion keeps blood flowing." Getting out of your seat and walking around the cabin has the same effect.
