TiVo announced a new set-top box at CEDIA last week – the company's most advanced to date – with the ability to record four different shows at once while watching a fifth recorded program, thanks to its FOUR tuners. Dubbed the TiVo Premiere Elite, the new box has a huge two-terabyte hard drive capable of holding 300 hours of HD programming, and is THX certified.

The TiVo Premiere Elite features TiVo's easy to use interface and provides access to Web entertainment from Netflix, Pandora, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, YouTube, and more.

It is compatible with most popular home automation controllers such as Crestron, Control4, and RTI, along with the TiVo Slide remote with a QWERTY keyboard and TiVo's apps for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.

The TiVo Premiere Elite is for use with digital cable systems only and does not work with analog cable or satellite. It will be available by the end of the year Pending FCC approval, through tivo.com, authorized home theater installers and Best Buy's Magnolia stores.

Best Buy on Monday announced the new Insignia Connected TV. Available in 32- and 42-inch models, the Full HD Insignia Connected TV features a TiVo interface without a paid TiVo subscription.

Insignia's Connected TV features entertainment options from Netflix, CinemaNow, YouTube, Pandora and Napster, plus popular applications such as Facebook, Twitter, Photobucket, Accuweather, Reuters News and Sports, Stocks and Traffic and more.

Additional features include:

TiVo announced on Monday that they have slashed prices on their TiVo Premiere and Premiere XL DVRs for a limited time. You can now pick up the TiVo Premiere box for $99.99 with a one-year commitment of $19.99 per month – saving you $200 on the box. The TiVo Premiere XL is now priced at $299.99 (regularly $499.99) with a one-year commitment at $19.99 per month.

TiVo announced this week that they will offer the Hulu Plus service to its TiVo Premiere DVR subscribers "in the coming months". Hulu Plus offers more than 45 current hit programs from ABC, FOX and NBC like Modern Family, Grey's Anatomy, Glee, Family Guy, The Office and 30 Rock. In addition, those with TiVo Premiere DVRs will be able to watch full series runs and back seasons of classic shows like The X-Files, Law and Order: SVU, Arrested Development, Saturday Night Live, Miami Vice, Ugly Betty, Quantum Leap, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Roswell and Ally McBeal.

TiVo this week announced that Pandora Internet radio is now available on all broadband-connected TiVo Premiere boxes.

On TiVo, you can create a new free Pandora account, or sign-in with your existing Pandora account to enjoy your favorite stations on the television set. You can also access Pandora stations created on TiVo on any other platform where you listen to Pandora, including PCs and smartphones and other connected devices.

Best Buy and TiVo announced on Tuesday that TiVo's software will be integrated into new broadband-connected Insignia televisions. The new Insignia televisions will allow users to access online content; however, they will not have DVR functionality.

TiVo just announced a box that does it all, the TiVo Premiere DVR. Available in April in two versions, the TiVo Premiere and TiVo Premiere XL, the boxes can access cable programming, movies, web videos, and music.

With the new TiVo Premiere, you can watch and search for movies from Netflix, Amazon Video On Demand and Blockbuster On Demand; view YouTube videos, listen to Pandora radio (in the coming months) and more.

The TiVo Premiere box has up to 45 hours of HD storage space or up to 400 hours of standard definition programming. The TiVo Premiere XL box holds up to 150 hours of HD or up to 1350 hours of standard definition programming. Both boxes will be available in April, with the Premiere priced at $299.99 and the Premiere XL $499.99.

Two new accessories were also announced; the TiVo Wireless N adapter which allows for faster downloads and content streaming and a new QWERTY TiVo remote. Both will be available in May. Read more

TiVo today announced that they are lowering the price on both the TiVo HD and TiVo HD XL DVRs. The TiVo HD is now $249.99 (reg. $299.99) and TiVo HD XL is now offered at $499.99 (reg. $599.99).

Need an HDTV to go with the TiVo? In addition to the lower price, you can get an additional $100 off the cost of an HD TiVo DVR when you purchase an HDTV from Best Buy, bringing the price of a TiVo HD DVR to only $149.99. A subscription to the TiVo service is required and sold separately.
