I am a programmer, entrepreneur, geek, technology fan, and father of six, not in that order. My programming and geekery started at a young age when my elementary school bought an Apple -- the year after they came out. I haven't been away from a computer since.

During high school, I met another equally geeky Mac owner, named Bill Butler. Bill and I roomed together at Vanderbilt where our only notable non-drinking achievement was setting up the first five computer network in a single dorm room to play NetTrek. Around this time, the entrepreneurial spirit kicked in when I found that making money was more fun than studying. Bill and I achieved an impressive array of business firsts in Nashville. Our business was the first Internet provider in Nashville, the first web hosting provider in Nashville, started the first colocation facility in Nashville and we were probably the first to be arrested for naked rollerblading in Nashville.

Getting married put an end to the rollerblading, but not to the ambitious pursuits. My lovely wife and I went on to have six children over the next eight years.

I spend my days programming Sitemason and my evenings playing with children. In the spare moments between putting children to bed and going to bed myself, I do things like this podcast.

Hobbies: Who has time for hobbies? I'll leave that to Bill.
