Sony Connects Drivers with SiriusXM and Pandora on New Car Stereos

New models integrate exciting connectivity features at lower price points

Aug. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony is expanding its mobile audio lineup with eight new in-dash CD receivers. The new models range from entry-level units to advanced receivers and digital media players that offer SiriusXM satellite radio and Pandora internet radio connectivity in the car.

Universal SiriusXM Satellite Connectivity

Four of the new models (CDX-GT565UP, CDX-GT660UP, CDX-360MP, CDX-GT56UI) feature SiriusXM compatibility, using the new SXV100 SiriusXM Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit (sold separately, XM subscription required). The compact SiriusXM vehicle tuner has a simple connection, providing integration of SiriusXM in an inexpensive and easy-to-install package. SiriusXM Now Available on Sonos Wireless Music Systems

Sonos is full of news lately. Last week they announced the Sonos Controller for Android and right before that they added rdio access to their wireless music systems. Now, Sonos owners in the United States will be happy to hear that they can enjoy SiriusXM Internet Radio on their Sonos music system.

All you need is a Sonos ZonePlayer, such as the Sonos S5 all-in-one wireless music system, a Sonos Controller, like the free Sonos Controller for iPhone or iPad and a SiriusXM Internet Radio subscription. XM SkyDock Now Available for iPhone, iPod Touch

Back in August I told you about XM SkyDock, the first satellite radio controlled by the iPhone or iPod touch. The company just announced that it is now available at retail stores, including Best Buy, Radio Shack, as well as online at www.xmradio.com/skydock.

With this device you can listen to XM programming wherever you drive and control it with your iPhone or iPod touch. Like a song you hear? Songs can be tagged and then purchased from the iTunes Store. XM SkyDock will also charge your iPod touch and iPhone while you're listening to satellite radio.

Installation is easy, as the device works through the existing car stereo. You can even move it from vehicle to vehicle. An Aux In Cable is included for cars with Aux In capability.Read more

Sirius XM SkyDock Hits Stores this Fall

Sirius XM just introduced SkyDock, a new dock for your iPhone and iPod touch that lets you listen to live Sirius XM radio from your device while in the car.

Designed for use through your existing vehicle audio system, SkyDock has a built-in XM tuner which is controlled by a free iPhone App. The App allows you to control the XM tuner using the iPod touch or iPhone Multi-Touch user interface. SkyDock will also charge your device while listening to live satellite radio.

Vehicle installation is easy with Sirius XM's PowerConnect technology which works through the existing vehicle radio and makes it easy to move the device from vehicle to vehicle. An Aux In Cable is also included for cars that have an Aux In jack. Read more
