Pandigital Announces $229 SuperNova Android Tablet

Pandigital Outs Three New Android Tablets: the Nova, Star and Planet

Pandigital this week unveiled three new Android tablets – the Pandigital Planet, Pandigital Nova and Pandigital Star. They all boast fast Cortex A9 processors, full-color touchscreen displays, and come packed with features and functionality - at an affordable price. All three will be available this month, with a fourth tablet arriving in September.

All three Pandigital tablets are Wi-Fi-enabled and run the Android OS (Planet and Star are Android 2.2 and the Nova is Android 2.3). All are upgradeable to new Android OS versions and will be scheduled for future firmware releases as they become available. They also include a built-in MicroSD card reader which accepts up to 32GB memory cards, built-in mini-USB On The Go (OTG) port, and integrated memory (2GB for the Planet and Star, 4GB for the Nova). Pandigital's Novel Line of eReaders are Now Android Tablets

Pandigital today announced a firmware update that turns its 7-inch Pandigital Novel line of Ereaders into the an Android multimedia tablet, allowing you to add a wide range of Android applications to the device.

By updating the software of the existing product, the new 7-inch Pandigital Multimedia Novel tablet is faster and additional file compatibility is added, including DOC, DOCX, TXT, XLS, XLSX, CSV, PPT and PPTX. The device’'s software upgrade will also give it better performance for accessing content from Barnes & Noble's NOOKbook Store. Of course, it still features a full-color touch screen, built-in WiFi connectivity, email and web access, audio and video player, digital photo frame, alarm clock, games and more.

Pandigital has a new eReader hitting retail stores later this month. Unlike the Pandigital Novel, the new Pandigital Novel Personal eReader features a 6-inch grayscale touchscreen ePaper display with 600x800 resolution.

The new eReader weighs 9.1 ounces and has 2GB of internal memory (expandable to 32GB via memory card slot), built-in Wi-Fi and web browser, headphone jack, speakers, appointment calendar and alarm clock. The Novel Personal eReader also has a battery life of up to 6,000 page turns, integrated Barnes & Noble eBookstore, an adjustable font size, built-in dictionary, word/character search, highlighting, and multiple bookmark capability.

Easy to use and portable at only 13.79 ounces, the Personal Photo Scanner/Converter features one-touch scanning and requires no PC or special software. Simply plug it in, insert your photo, and scan photos onto the included SD card. Then, just upload the images to your computer or insert the card into a digital photo frame to view the images.

Images are scanned at up to 600 optical dpi with 3800x7200 24-bit color depth resolution, and the device uses a new twin-roller feeding system so that photos are scanned evenly each time.
