Nikon just announced a brand new digital imaging system, the Nikon 1 System. Built from the ground up, two new interchangeable lens system models start the lineup; they include the Nikon V1 and Nikon J1.

Both models feature a new 10.1 megapixel CX-format High Speed AF CMOS sensor and dual-core EXPEED 3 processor, along with a new advanced hybrid AF system boasting 73 focus points. In addition, the cameras offer the world's fastest full resolution continuous shooting speed at 60 fps (AF locked).

Both cameras also capture Full HD videos at 1080p (30 fps) or 60 fps (1080i). Additional 30/60/400 and 1200 fps modes are also offered for super slow motion effects. The Nikon J1 has the ability to capture both HD movies and high resolution images simultaneously and applies noise reduction to the movie files. Read more
