Nikon Outs Six New COOLPIX Digital Cameras, Including the Rugged AW100

This week Nikon introduced six new COOLPIX digital cameras offering a range of features, including Nikon's first "rugged" camera and a compact cam offering manual controls - a variety sure to meet the needs of everyone from the casual shooter to the camera enthusiast. The new cameras in the COOLPIX lineup are the P7100, AW100, S1200p, S8200, S6200, and the S100.

A digital camera for the advanced photographer, the 10.1-megapixel COOLPIX P7100 offers DSLR-like manual controls and faster start-up and shutter-response speeds, along with new creative effects. It features a 3.0-inch (921,000-dot) tilting vari-angle LCD screen, 7.1x wide angle optical zoom-NIKKOR ED glass lens, a pop-up flash, and has a top-mounted shoe for external flashes and microphones.
