Epson Releases Wireless Projection App for iOS Devices

Epson on Monday released a new app for iOS devices which allows iPad/iPhone and iPod touch users to wirelessly display documents and photos to any networked Epson projector. Called iProjection – it also supports cloud files services such as Dropbox.

Great for mobile business users who need to travel light, as well as teachers who want the freedom of walking around the classroom, the Epson iProjection app allows them to present directly from their mobile device. Users can access documents and files that are stored on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, or access files through the cloud, for files not on the mobile device. The app is compatible with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Apple Keynote, Adobe PDF, and JPEG and PNG image files, as well as cloud services such as Dropbox and email applications such as Gmail.

All it takes is three steps:

  1. Connect your iOS device to the projector's network
  2. Launch app and select connected projector
  3. Select the file to project (doc or photo) and you're ready

Epson Unveils New LabelWorks Portable Label Makers

Epson is jumping into the label maker business with the new LabelWorks LW-300 and LW-400, both announced today.

Epson's first line of portable label makers not only help you get organized, but allow you to get creative, offering 14 font types, 75 frames and more than 300 symbols. They can be used with more than 40 tape cartridges available in traditional colors as well as specialized media such as fluorescent, pearlized, iron-on, reflective, and glow-in-the-dark. Thanks to smaller side margins, you'll have less wasted tape as well. Your label is printed with a perforated back, so you can quickly peel it and stick it to your files, household items, or just about anything else.

The LabelWorks LW-300 works with tapes in a variety of widths ranging from six millimeters (~1/4 inch) to 12 millimeters (~1/2 inch), and features built-in memory for fast access to the 30 most frequently used labels. Epson's iPrint App Now Available for Android

Epson announced on Monday that its free iPrint mobile printing app is now available for Android smartphones. With the iPrint app, you can print web pages and photos from your Android smartphone to any wireless Epson all-in-one within your wireless network.

Compatible with Android OS 2.1 or later, the Epson iPrint app also lets you scan, save and share your files, and it supports online cloud services like Box.net, Dropbox and Evernote.

Epson is adding two new business projectors to its lineup - the VS410 and VS350W. Both value-priced projectors are easy-to-use and sport USB Plug 'n Play for instantly projecting video and audio from a computer via a USB connection, Direct Power On and Off for wall switch power control and Instant On/Off which powers the projector on and off with no cool down time. They also include an A/V Mute Slide which turns off the sound and images for a pause in the presentation.

The VS410 offers 4,000 lumens of color and white light output with XGA resolution, and the VS350W delivers 3,500 lumens color and white light output with WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution for use with widescreen notebooks or viewing high-definition content.
