Zoom raises the bar in the portable recorder market with the introduction of the H2n. The first portable recorder to include five studio-quality microphones, it offers four recording modes: Mid-Side (MS) stereo, 90° X/Y stereo, 2-channel and 4-channel surround sound.
Additional features include a 1.8-inch backlit LCD display, built-in reference speaker for the playback of recordings on the spot, and its new data recovery function will automatically restore your data the next time the H2n is powered on. You can also use the H2n as a USB microphone and record directly to your computer.
But perhaps the standout feature of the H2n is the ability to widen and narrow your recording range on the fly. Reporters can hone in on the interviewee and block out other reporters/crowd noise, or concert goers can adjust to target the audio from just the singer. By increasing and decreasing the level of the side mics you can control the width of your stereo field - even adjust it after-the-fact, in post production.Read more
