Panasonic on Thursday announced the LUMIX DMC-G3, the company's smallest and lightest digital interchangeable lens camera with a viewfinder to date. The LUMIX G3 features a new 16.0-megapixel CMOS sensor and records 1920 x 1080 full- HD video with stereo sound in AVCHD.
Along with its 3-inch LCD touch screen, the LUMIX G3 has a built-in flash and a hot shoe and offers 4fps burst shooting at full resolution, subject-tracking AF while recording video, and a picture-in-picture manual focus magnification option. It also has a new 'Pinpoint AF' mode, Panasonic's iA2 and new iA Plus modes, and an external dial for modes like Program, Shutter and Aperture Priority, Manual.
Made of aluminum, the 11.84 oz (body only) LUMIX DMC-G3 will be available in black, red, white and brown in June 2011. The LUMIX G3 with the 14-42mm Zoom Lens Kit will be priced at $699.99.
