Most likely, before you had your learner's permit, and later your driver's license, you rode a roller coaster. Few things can compete with those memories: The way your coaster car gripped the track as it began its initial climb, the exhilaration of the wind in your face as you took that first big drop, the hairpin turns that threw you from one side of the car to the other. The new 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet convertible gives those roller coaster memories a run for their money.

The 2011 model has improved from the original 997 generation Turbo released in 2006, and while there are refinements from the 2010 model as far as styling and cosmetics go, the real excitement lies elsewhere. The 3.8 liter twin turbo engine, a bump up to 500 horsepower, and 480 lb-ft torque make this car a rocket. This entirely new engine is 13.2 lbs. lighter than its predecessor, and draws from twin turbochargers and direct fuel injection - adding to the increased power output and reduced emissions.

This power goes to all four wheels through an actively controlled all-wheel-drive system with an upgraded version of Porsche Stability Management. These electronic aids ensure that power is most efficiently put down to the ground.Read more
