HTC's Latest Android Tablet Integrates Nuance's Continuous Touch and Predictive Text Technology, Letting Consumers Choose Whether they Trace or Tap to Compose Messages
March 23, 2011 — Nuance Communications, Inc. this week announced that its T9 Trace and XT9 predictive input capabilities will be fully integrated on the new Android-based HTC Flyer tablet's virtual keypad, providing consumers more control over how they input text to stay connected. Introduced at the 2011 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the HTC Flyer will be the first HTC tablet to feature the Company's innovative Sense user interface.
Nuance's T9 Trace brings the popular continuous touch input to the HTC Flyer, enabling users to input text by easily gliding their finger from one letter to the next, making it even faster and easier to update their Facebook status, send emails or text messages, or even edit documents. Combined with Nuance's pervasive XT9 predictive text technology, users are able to seamlessly switch back and forth between tracing and tapping, while experiencing the full benefits of automatic correction via XT9's SloppyType ™, word prediction, automatic punctuation and more.
