Galaxy S 4G Arrives at T-Mobile this Month

 Galaxy S 4G

Along with confirming the G-Slate this week, T-Mobile announced that the Galaxy S 4G by Samsung will be available later this month. According to T-Mobile, the Galaxy S 4G will be "the fastest smartphone running on America's Largest 4G Network, capable of delivering peak download speeds of up to 21 Mbps."

The Galaxy S 4G comes with the T-Mobile TV app pre-loaded, for access to live and on-demand mobile HD TV, including free programming from ABC News NOW, FOX Sports, PBS Kids and Azteca America. But making it even better, T-Mobile has also preloaded (free!) the movie INCEPTION. Customers also have the option to rent or purchase movies and TV programs directly from the Samsung Media Hub.

Powered by Android 2.2, the Galaxy S 4G features a 4-inch Super AMOLED touch screen display, Samsung's 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird Application Processor, an ST-Ericsson M5720 HSPA+ 4G modem, a 5 megapixel camera, a pre-installed 16GB microSD memory card, and a 1650 mAh lithium ion battery. Galaxy S 4G Coming to T-Mobile

 Samsung Vibrant Galaxy S smartphone

At a press event on Thursday, T-Mobile officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, an Android 2.2 (Froyo) smartphone. According to T-Mobile, the Galaxy S 4G will be "the fastest smartphone running on America's largest 4G network," delivering peak download speeds of up to 21 Mbps.

"With Galaxy S 4G, T-Mobile will deliver its fastest smartphone yet on America's largest 4G network, providing rich entertainment virtually whenever and wherever consumers want," said Cole Brodman, chief marketing officer, T-Mobile USA. "And with 4G data plans from $10 per month, we're making blazing-fast 4G speeds and super smartphone experiences easily accessible to the millions who crave them."

The Galaxy S 4G will feature Samsung's Super AMOLED touch screen display, but that's all we know about the device…a photo of the phone isn't even available (the Samsung Vibrant, the first Galaxy S smartphone is pictured above). No word on pricing or when the device will be in stores was mentioned either. The press release simply states "More information on the Galaxy S 4G from T-Mobile will be available in the coming weeks." I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
