Acer Outs H9500BD 1080p 3D Home Theater DLP Projector

Acer on Tuesday unveiled its latest home theater projector - the H9500BD - featuring Full 1080p HD projection, 3D capabilities, even 2D-to-3D conversion in high definition.

Aimed at the home theater enthusiast, this baby does it all - video, gaming, photos and more – projecting images up to 300 inches diagonally. All the popular 3D technologies are supported, such as Blu-ray 3D and DLP 3D for movies, as well as NVIDIA 3DTV Play and 3D-compatible gaming consoles. A pair of Acer ActiveShutter 3D glasses is included and Acer 2D-to-3D technology automatically converts any 2D signal into 3D.

As stated above, images are displayed in Full HD 1920x1080 pixel resolution for 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios. The projector also has a lens shift feature for flexible placement. Unveiled earlier this year at the 2011 CEDIA Expo, SIM2's NERO 3D-2 projector is now available. The remaining three models in the NERO line (3D-1, 3D-HighBrightness and NERO 235) will be available in the next few months.

Canon on Tuesday unveiled the LV-8235, an ultra-short throw mulitmedia projector that can project an 80-inch picture from a distance of only 1.04 ft. Boasting a high brightness rating of 2500 lumens and widescreen WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution, the projector is ideal for presenting HD video or graphics created on widescreen laptops.

Aimed at the educational market or for advertising/digital signage use, the LV-8235 UST can be placed on a table or be mounted either horizontally or vertically on a wall, ceiling or floor. It can be used for normal 2D display as well as stereoscopic 3D display (active-shutter type glasses required for 3D imagery) and boasts a maximum display size of 110 inches. Read more

Panasonic's First Full HD 3D Home Theater Projector Arrives in September

Last month we told you Panasonic had its first Full HD 3D home theater projector in the works. We now have all the details. The PT-AE7000U 3D home theater projector touts 1080p (1,920 x 1,080 pixel) resolution and is the first 3D projector to use transparent LCD panels driven at 480Hz.

The PT-AE7000U features a new optical engine producing a 300,000:1 contrast ratio and 2,000 lumens of brightness and a newly-developed dual-core processing engine which allows the projector to process 3D signals with the benefits of 2D image enhancements. In addition, Panasonic's Overdrive Technology has been carefully tuned with the 480Hz LCD Panel to reduce 3D crosstalk (double images) for comfortable 3D viewing.

Panasonic Full HD 3D Home Theater Projector in the Works

This week at InfoComm 2011, Panasonic announced that they have in development the company's first Full HD 3D Home Theater Projector. The new projector will be a successor to the PT-AE4000U - a three-chip, 1080p LCD model that has a 2.35:1 extra wide aspect cinematic Lens Memory Feature.

No stranger to 3D, Panasonic has had professional 3D camcorders, 3D VIERA televisions and 3D Blu-ray players available in the marketplace for some time now, along with its own 3D authoring and encoding facilities (Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory).

Panasonic plans to release the new 3D home theater projector for sale sometime this year, although an exact date, model number and pricing has not been announced.
