Motorola today announced DROID X, a smartphone the company calls a "pocket-sized home theater." Available July 15 from Verizon Wireless, the DROID X has a 1 GHz processor for super-fast speeds, a 4.3 inch high resolution display, 8 megapixel camera with auto-focus and dual LED flash, and records videos in 720p HD quality. You can even playback the video on your HDTV with an optional HDMI cable.
The DROID X also comes with 8 GB of onboard memory and a pre-installed 16 GB memory card (expandable up to 40 GB with a 32 GB card) for videos, images, games and apps.
Speaking of games and apps, it comes with a ton preloaded such as EA Need for Speed Shift, NFL Mobile, Skype mobile and a full suite of Google Mobile Services, including Android Market, Google Maps with Street View, Google Latitude, a YouTube widget, Calendar, Google Search by Voice, and, of course, Gmail and Google Search. You can also download BLOCKBUSTER On Demand via a link icon on the phone's home screen. It also includes preloaded social networking widgets for Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. Read more
