Panasonic introduced its latest rugged laptop this week, the Toughbook F9. Weighing in at 3.6 pounds it is the industry's lightest 14" laptop, yet has survived drops of 30" while in operation. Adding to its toughness is the ability to withstand more than 220 lbs of compression. It also touts a spill-resistant keyboard that protects against spills of nearly 7 ounces.
The Toughbook F9 features an Intel Core i5 processor, 320GB HDD, high resolution (1440 x 900) widescreen display, DVD multi-drive, optional Qualcomm Gobi2000 mobile broadband and an integrated handle. The F9 comes with Windows 7, but can be downgraded to XP. It is said to deliver up to seven hours of battery life.Read more
