Samsung Launches Site for 3D Glasses Promotion

 Samsung SSG-3100GB Active 3D Glasses

Earlier this year, Samsung announced a promotion giving consumers who purchased a 2011 model Samsung 3D TV 2 free pairs of 3D glasses. Apparently, not all retailers have been honoring the promotion. In response, Samsung has launched its own website where consumers can go to request their free 3D glasses.

Here's the deal: For consumers who purchase a 2011 Samsung 3D TV from an authorized Samsung retailer between April 24, 2011 and June 25, 2011, and do not receive 3D glasses from that retailer (either as part of the 3D glasses promotion or as part of a 3D Starter Kit provided by the retailer with select TV models), Samsung will provide two pairs of 2011 3D battery glasses directly to the consumer.

Samsung says that the "two free glasses" promotion will end June 25, 2011. However, they will be announcing details for a new 3D glasses promotion prior to June 26th.

To make a claim, eligible customers should visit www.samsung.com/us/3Dglasses. All claims must be submitted within 90 days of purchase and must include proof of purchase.

Samsung Lowers Price of 3D Active Glasses

 Samsung SSG-3100GB Active 3D Glasses

Samsung is making it more affordable to enjoy 3D TV at home. Beginning May 1, 2011, Samsung's 2011 3D active glasses (model SSG-3100GB) will be available for under $50. The SSG-3100GB model does not require charging and will give you up to 70 hours of 3D watching pleasure.

But that's not all. The company also announced that beginning April 24 all Samsung 3D TVs will come with two pairs of 3D active glasses at no additional cost. This offer is valid with the purchase of any Samsung 3D LED TV or 3D Plasma TV.

Those who purchase the D7000 and above 3D LED TVs or the D6500 and above 3D Plasma TVs will still receive Samsung's 3D Starter Kit (SSG-3100M), which includes two pairs of 3D active glasses, promotional versions of DreamWorks Animation's complete Shrek collection on 3D Blu-ray and a voucher for Megamind 3D on Blu-ray. Customers already receiving this starter kit with a step-up TV model will not be eligible for the new promotion. Read more
