Usually when you hear of a "tough" mobile computer, it is large and bulky. That's not the case with the latest Toughbook from Panasonic. This week the company introduced what they say is the "World's lightest 12.1-inch convertible tablet PC" – the Toughbook C1.
Designed to withstand a 30" drop, the C1 runs Windows 7, has a battery life of up to 10 hours and is powered by the Intel Core i5 520M vPro processor. This Toughbook weighs in at just 3.2 pounds with one battery or 3.7 pounds with two. It also features a shock-mounted, flex-connect 250GB hard drive with a quick-release feature, 2GB of RAM, and is one of the first laptops to support multi-touch and digitizers. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are built-in and Gobi2000 mobile broadband technology is an option along with an optional fingerprint reader, SmartCard reader, webcam and more.Read more
