On display at CEDIA this week are two of Onkyo's newest hi-fi components - the A-9070 Integrated Stereo Amplifier and C-7070 CD player. In typical Onkyo fashion, both offer state-of-the-art design, rugged engineering, a variety of connectivity options, and sound pure enough to please discerning audiophiles.

Onkyo's A-9070 Integrated Stereo Amplifier has four discrete modes—integrated amp, poweramp, pre-amp, and split power/pre-amp—offering flexibility when incorporating other components into your hi-fi system. Alone, it provides ample power with a parallel push-pull amplification design, three-stage inverted Darlington circuitry, dedicated Wolfson 192 kHz/24-bit DACs for symmetrically designed L/R channels, and four large 15,000 µF capacitors.

In addition, the unit features DIDRC (Dynamic Intermodulation Distortion Reduction Circuitry), along with closed ground-loop circuits and vibration-damping construction combine for clear sound across a wide dynamic range. Onkyo on Monday unveiled the new TX-8050 network stereo receiver and C-7030 CD player.

The TX-8050 network stereo receiver can connect to a range of music sources – its front-panel USB port connects to your iPod/iPhone (and other USB devices), an Ethernet jack streams music from your computer, and Onkyo's Universal Port connects to Onkyo's iPod docks, HD Radio tuner and more. It even supports classic audio sources such as turntable, AM/FM, audio recorder, AV sources, and a CD player via analog or optical/coaxial digital connections.

Supported audio files include MP3, WMA, WMA Lossless, FLAC, WAV, Ogg Vorbis, AAC, and LPCM audio. The TX-8050 can also stream Internet radio channels from Pandora, Rhapsody, Napster, SIRIUS XM Internet Radio, Slacker, Last.fm, Mediafly, and vTuner. Are you reminiscent of the 80's? This week at CES, Onkyo is unveiling new hi-fi components that bring back the style of the company's classic stereo models of the 1980's. There are three models; the P-3000R pre-amplifier, M-5000R power amplifier, and C-7000R CD player.

The new models feature Onkyo's new Dynamic Intermodulation Distortion Reduction Circuitry (DIDRC) which counteracts unwanted high-frequency interference. The company says that "Frequencies above 100 kHz are susceptible to clock pulses and other forms of distortion from digital devices. Such distortion in the super-high frequency range can generate "beat interference," which in turn affects the character or atmosphere of the original sound. DIDRC works to reduce noise by improving linearity and reducing distortion in the super high frequency range, resulting in audio playback that is more faithful to the original source."Read more

Announced this week, the Elite G-Clef line includes two CD players, the PD-D6MK2 and PD-D9MK2 and two stereo amplifiers, the SX-A6MK2 and SX-A9MK2.
