Cisco Rolls Out NHL Flip Cameras; Announces Flip Video Fan Face-Off Contest

Hockey fans – there is now a Flip Video camera just for you! Cisco and the National Hockey League have teamed up to offer 30 NHL team Flip video cameras. But that's not all. To help promote the new NHL designs, Flip Video is giving Facebook fans a chance to win Flip cameras and a trip to the 2011 NHL All-Star Game!

Starting today (December 7), hockey fans can get their own official NHL Flip video camera with a custom design from any one of the 30 NHL teams from the U.S. and Canada. The NHL-branded Flips are available on all of the Flip video cameras including the Flip UltraHD, MinoHD and SlideHD.

Cisco Updates Flip UltraHD, MinoHD Camcorders

Cisco has updated its Flip UltraHD and Flip MinoHD line of camcorders with a new design and improved HD video quality. The new Flip Video camcorders now feature image stabilization and 720p resolution at 60 frames per second. They also come pre-loaded with a new version of FlipShare software which now lets you post directly to Twitter, as well as Facebook and YouTube.

Flip also announced Designed for Flip, a new program offering accessories from partners that include everything from wide angle lenses and external microphones to battery chargers and a portable projector.

The new Flip UltraHD now comes in two models (1 hour, 4GB and 2 hour, 8GB) and for the first time, the UltraHD line can be personalized through the Flip Online Store. Along with always-on image stabilization and 720p/60 fps video quality, the new Flip Video UltraHD 2 hour is the first Flip video camera with FlipPort – a connector enabling new add-ons options as part of the Designed for Flip accessory program. Flip Goes HD

Pure Digital's popular Flip camcorder has now gone HD. The company's new Flip UltraHD features two hours of recording time, a two-inch screen, 1280 x 720 resolution, 8GB memory, 2 x digital zoom and battery recharging through its built-in USB arm. A second generation standard-resolution (640 x 480) model is also available with 4GB memory.

Both new camcorders in the Ultra line come pre-loaded with FlipShare software that lets you easily organize, edit and share your videos. Just plug the built-in USB arm into your computer to share your videos on the spot.

The UltraHD is available in Black and White (with chrome trim) with an MSRP of $199.99. The Flip Ultra comes in Black, White, Yellow and Pink and sells for $149.

My prediction is this will be one hot seller…after all; more than 2 million first generation Flip camcorders have been sold since they were introduced…and that was less than 2 years ago!
