New HP Consumer PCs Combine Performance, Entertainment and Design

January 6, 2009—HP today announced two new thin and light ultra-portable notebook PCs – the HP Pavilion dv2 and HP Pavilion dv3 – plus the HP Firebird with Voodoo DNA, an innovative, high-performance desktop PC.

All the new PCs are designed to deliver great multimedia experiences while making a style statement.

Preventing Laptop Theft


man at airportMany people will be traveling this holiday season to visit family and friends and will bring their expensive laptops along on the trip. Most of these travelers will not have considered that thousands of laptops are stolen from airports every week. Thieves are ready to capitalize on the increase in air travel during the holidays and the chaos of the holiday season.

At airports alone, 12,000 laptops a week are lost according to a survey by the Ponemon Institute. And, that number is sure to increase this season.

While the loss of an expensive laptop can dampen the holiday spirit, the potential for identity theft will hang over the victim's head well into the New Year. Touch the Future Now with HP's New Touchsmart tx2 Notebook PC


HP TouchSmart tx2HP isn't new to touchscreen products. They started producing them in 1983 – 25 years ago. The user has the choice of finger tip or stylus pen. The Touchsmart tx2's Multi-touch technology means you can use two finger gestures such as pinch, rotate, arc, flick, press and drag, and single and double tap.
