SEGA Launches PlaySEGA.com

December 4, 2008 – SEGA today launched PlaySEGA, a completely new SEGA experience for all types of gaming and social networking fans. PlaySEGA is based at www.PlaySEGA.com and is a mini web game portal with a selection of arcade, word, card, puzzle, quiz, Sonic and sports titles, which are available now and completely FREE to all PC and Mac users.

PlaySEGA has an impressive assortment of titles available on the site including Brain Assist, which was originally released for the Nintendo DS, and the successful mobile title, Sonic at the Olympic Games. Brand new SEGA games that have been created exclusively for PlaySEGA are also available such as Ice Shuffle, Hollywood Adventure Quiz and Aquatic Word Burst. In addition, a selection of all-new Guest Games will soon be unveiled, all entirely FREE to each PlaySEGA user.

The Eagles, Nirvana and More to Rock Guitar Hero World Tour with Downloadable Content

December 3, 2008 – Legendary multi-platinum recording artists The Eagles, Nirvana and The Smashing Pumpkins, all featured in the on-disc set list of Activision Publishing, Inc.’s Guitar Hero World Tour, are returning in December with exclusive downloadable content for the game. Additionally, fans will be in for a treat just in time for Christmas with three free Reggae Rock tracks from Pepper, Slightly Stoopid and Expendables.

The Smashing Pumpkins, one of rock's defining and most acclaimed bands who have sold over 30 million albums, return to Guitar Hero World Tour, tomorrow December 4th, with a three-song track pack featuring the recently released single “G.L.O.W.,” “1979” and “Everlasting Gaze.”

Featuring the stylistic melodies of Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl, the pioneers of alternative rock, Nirvana, make their Guitar Hero downloadable content debut with the Nirvana Track Pack. Walmart Offers Black Friday-type Deals November 8


 Walmart deals screenshot To help kick off the Holiday shopping season, Walmart just announced that they will be offering special Black Friday-type deals for one day only -- November 8th.

Included in these deals is a 2GB Sony Walkman MP3 player for $49, a $100 Walmart Gift Card with the purchase of a $399 Sony PlayStation 3, and select video games (including Warhawk, Resistance and MotorStorm) for $19.82.  But what really stood out is a Compaq CQ-139WM 15.4" laptop with 2GB RAM and 160GB hard drive for only $298.  Guitar Hero World Tour for Wii Just when you thought Guitar Hero couldn’t get any better, Activision unveils Guitar Hero World Tour, which takes your musical capabilities via video games to the next level. Play with wireless controllers (including the updated guitar and drum controller), online or offline, against friends or solo.

Music from many large stars of the 20th century (The Eagles, Michael Jackson, and Metallica) will appeal to teens and their parents, making this one product that transcends the generation gap. If you think you can compete with these legends, World Tour gives you the framework to try: included in the game is a digital music studio that lets you generate your own song from scratch and then incorporate it into the game. Though the price is steep at 189 dollars, the replay compensates for this and the game is available on all three next generation systems (XBOX 360, PS3, and Wii). Read more
