DISH Introduces SlingLoaded HD DVR at CES 2009


 DISH Network ViP 922 January 9, 2009 — DISH Network just unveiled the world's first SlingLoaded HD DuoDVR, the award-winning ViP 922. The ViP 922 is the first high definition digital video recorder that incorporates placeshifting technology.

Own an Inspiron Mini? Take Your TV with You


 Dell USB Digital TV Tuner At CES 2009, Dell unveiled a new thumb-sized USB digital TV tuner that lets owners of an Inspiron Mini watch broadcast TV on their computer. Starting at $50, the Dell USB Digital TV tuner will receive live and free over-the-air local digital and HD TV broadcasts (where available). It works with the Dell customized version of Ubuntu Linux (8.04), Windows XP and Windows Vista Basic.

Dell says they will offer region-specific versions, designed to receive local broadcast standards. The tuner will be available later this quarter. Europe gets it first, then North America, Asia-Pacific and China.

Flycast Radio for Desktops and Android Phones


 Flycast Radio New from Flycast at CES 2009 is a desktop player widget for Windows and Mac. There is no download for Linux though. The Adobe AIR application exactly mirrors the mobile player.

The desktop widget provides 1000 stations plus 300 personalized stations with unlimited skipping unlike other similar services. A few other favorite providers in this realm are Last.fm and Pandora as well as Rhapsody.

The Google Android phone (T-Mobile G1) is added to the list of mobile devices supported, joining the iPhone, iPod Touch, Blackberry Storm, Bold, and Curve.

Flycast StreamShift allows users to "rewind" back to the beginning if they join a show after it begins. StreamSlip allows continued listening during periods with no connection.

Sony Announces a Wide Range of Products at CES

January 8, 2009 – Sony this week unveiled an array of innovative products and forward-looking technologies that span virtually all of the consumer electronics industry’s major product categories and move in new directions, including the world of 3D.

Casio Introduces High Speed EXILIM Digital Cameras

Logic Wireless Unveils World's First Projector Phone


 Logic Bolt January 8, 2009 - Imagine carrying a big screen TV in your pocket. The world’s first projector phone allows just that.
