New Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 Uses $4.99 Black Ink Cartridge

 Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901

Printers are a dime a dozen, right? We all know that while you can find an inexpensive printer at every office superstore, where the cost comes in is the ink. That changes with the latest from Lexmark. Aimed at small businesses, the new Pinnacle Pro901 all-in-one printer uses a black ink cartridge that costs only $4.99. That's right…just $4.99! We're not the only ones who are impressed. Yesterday at the Fifth Annual Small Business Summit 2010, the Pinnacle Pro901 was awarded a 2010 Hot Tech Demo Award.

The Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 features 4-in-1 capability, a Web-connected, 4.3 inch capacitive touch screen, and, as mentioned before, the world's lowest-cost black ink at just $4.99.

The Best Printer... What to Buy?

 Brother HL-5340D laser printer

If you are in the market for printer that is perfectly suited for a small office or home office, printing principally letters, forms, e-mails, or other letter-sized black-and-white documents, this review may of particular interest. When laser printers first became available they were quite costly (in the thousands of dollars) as well as being large, heavy, and expensive to operate. That is no longer the case, but which one is now the "best buy?"

You can go to Best Buy (no pun intended), or simply look in the Sunday newspaper and you will see many varieties of printers-- principally laser and inkjet, multifunction and single-purpose -- available with a staggering array of features and prices. As mentioned earlier, if you operate a home office or a small office (or even a medium-size office) and have a frequent need for printing high-quality black-and-white output, the best solution is a dedicated laser printer, not an inkjet printer. So which one should you buy? At the BestStuff.com and Best Magazine offices we do a lot of printing. Over the past few years we have tested many printers, and we think we have a good answer for you; it is the Brother HL-5340D laser printer.Read more

Logitech Wireless Desktop MK710 Touts 3 Year Battery Life

 Logitech Wireless Desktop MK710

I love the freedom and the nice, neat look of a wireless keyboard and mouse. But one thing I have always disliked is the battery life on these devices. However, Logitech has a new wireless desktop keyboard/mouse combo that might be my next computer accessory purchase. The new Wireless Desktop MK710 is the first keyboard-and-mouse combo to have up to a three-year battery life for the keyboard and mouse, as well as the tiny Logitech Unifying receiver! You read that right…three years!

I know you're wondering how they made this possible. Logitech said that part of it is because of their Advanced 2.4 GHz wireless technology. It transmits information much faster than your typical 27 MHz wireless systems. Also, the amount of time the keyboard and mouse remain in active mode when left idle has been reduced. Read more
