New InSight Portable Hard Drives Display Available Free Space

Verbatim today announced their new InSight Portable USB Hard Drives. The two drives, in 320GB and 500GB capacities, feature an Always On display that calculates and displays available free space – even when disconnected from the computer.

Verbatim's new InSight Portable Hard Drives weigh less than 6 ounces, and measure just 6 in. x 3.4 in. x 0.63 in. The 2.5" drives have a 5400rpm spindle speed and also feature 8MB of cache memory. OCZ Ups the Clock Speed, DRAM on the Vertex Turbo SSD

The core clock speed and the SDR DRAM cache have been bumped from 166MHz to 180MHz and have a 64MB onboard cache. These drives also house a custom firmware designed specifically for performance junkies. OCZ also states that we will see read and write speeds of up to 270MBps and 210MBps, respectively. The Vertex Turbo SSD will come backed with an industry leading 3 Year Warranty, as well.
