Listening to music with headphones is usually a private affair, but what if you want to share your tunes with your friends? iHome has the solution with their new iHMP5 2-in-1 Stereo Speaker/Headphone System. These new over-the-ear headphones feature an inline pre-amp that when activated, turn the headphones into a stereo speaker for everyone to hear.

The iHMP5 has a lightweight, adjustable headband and 360-degree padding on the ear-cups for noise isolation. However, for those times when you want to share your music, simply turn on the battery powered amplifier and the stereo sound is there for everyone.

In the works for almost two years, Sony and Best Buy just announced that they have joined forces to create a new line of home audio products. The new ALTUS line will feature wireless music systems, speakers, and home theater products.

First in the ALTUS product lineup are two iPod docking systems. The ALT-SA31iR multi-room iPod package features a docking station for iPod/iPhone, two high-output wireless speakers, an AM/FM tuner and S-AIR remote with an LCD display. On the display, you can see the album being played, artist, and track information. The ALT-SA31iR system can also be used to transmit audio to all other S-AIR compatible receivers. iHome just announced that their new Studio Series speaker system for the iPod/iPhone is now available -- the iP1. Alpine Electronics today announced the new DPR-RDS1 Factory Radio Interface for iPod and iPhone, a device that allows you to listen to music from your iPod or iPhone through any factory radio. I know what you're thinking…can't I do that anyway? Not if you're like me and own an older model vehicle with no auxiliary jack!

The DPR-RDS1 is a small hideaway box that connects to your iPod or iPhone via a supplied iPod cable. Unfortunately, this is not something you can install on your own. Alpine says that the DPR-RDS1 should be professionally installed using a direct connection to the vehicle's antenna. Once it's installed, you will be able to play music from your iPod or iPhone through the factory sound system, and Alpine says that the sound quality will be as strong as an FM radio station (unlike some FM transmitters).
