Dolby and Nokia have joined forces to bring Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 surround sound on the Nokia N8 smartphone. This will be the first smartphone to offer true surround sound…with more phones to come.

The Nokia N8 runs on the new Symbian 3 operating system and with Dolby Digital Plus included on the phone, high definition surround sound content can be output to HD-ready TVs, audio/video receivers, and home theater systems via HDMI.

Additional features include a 3.5 inch touch screen display, 12 megapixel digital camera, HD video recording, HDMI out and 16GB of internal memory. Read more

HP iPrint Photo, a mobile printing app that lets you wirelessly print 4 x 6-inch photos from the iPhone and iPod touch, will be available for phones using the Symbian and WinMo operating systems, HP just announced.

Also, HP said they will have an "enhanced" version of the current HP iPrint Photo for iPhone and iPod touch. The new version, available from the Apple App Store, will include support for different types of paper and additional photo print sizes.

You can also record 720p HD movies from the OMNIA HD handheld device. Samsung is raising the bar with cell phones, and to ensure you like your photos and videos they have built this cell phone with a 3.7” QHD super vivid Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diaode (AMOLED) touch screen. The internal and expansion memory will max out at 48GB on this cell phone.

JK Shin, EVP and head of the Mobile Communication division in Samsung Electronics recently said, the “OMNIA HD demonstrates our vision for the Samsung mobile business, which is to provide premium phones for users who desire functionality, style, usability and entertainment in one innovative device.” This is certainly one amazing device!

Samsung is setting the bar, and I believe they have responded to the iPhone’s dominance with this device. I do not have any information for price or release dates in the States. It looks like we might have to wait until the end of the year to get our hands on this one.
