What is bright red, weighs 2,654 pounds, and was created from 380,000 LEGO bricks? Ford's LEGOLAND Florida Explorer, what else?

Rolling off the line at Chicago Assembly Plant today, the full-sized LEGOLAND Florida Explorer will soon be on its way to the new LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park, where it will be featured in front of one of the park's attractions, the Ford Driving School for children. This is just the beginning of a new long-term alliance between Ford and LEGOLAND Florida theme park.

No small task, it took 22 designers more than 2,500 hours to create the LEGOLAND Florida Edition Explorer. See for yourself in the video:

Volkswagen has made no secret that it plans to be the world's largest automaker, and part of that plan includes broadening its appeal in the Chinese and American markets. Indeed, Volkswagen is building a giant assembly plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee as part of its future global manufacturing and distribution plan.

In 2004 Volkswagen brought its first Touareg SUV to the US market, and the initial reception was quite positive. This car could literally climb the side of a mountain, hop over boulders, and then cross a deep stream of water. Volkswagen's marketing problem was that most people just don't do this sort of extreme driving. The 2011 second-generation Touareg has been thoroughly redesigned and is not intended for such extreme heavy duty, off-road driving. It is more Main Street than mountain goat.Read more

Status Design Gives the Porsche Cayenne a Hot, New Look

Russian tuner firm, Status Design, has taken the Porsche Cayenne SUV and given it a very nice and unique look. Status has outfitted the Cayenne with an insane, full body kit, which does look really good.

The new bumper makes use of specific angle to help generate more air flow into the air-intakes, similar to what we have seen in the Audi R8. There is also a new hood, with a pointed nose that goes down towards the front grille and some new front fenders.Read more

More Details Released for BMW's X1 SUV


BMW X1

Targeting the Toyota Rav4 and the Honda CR-V, the BMW X1 will be a compact SUV offering RWD and xDrive AWD configurations. The X1 will debut in Europe this fall with a choice of four engines - one petrol and three diesels in both RWD and AWD configurations. The most efficient of the range, the RWD sDrive18d, achieves a fuel economy of up to 45.2mpg (5.2L/100km) while still being able to hit a top speed of 124mph. The BMW X1 will go on sale in the U.S. in 2011, with (what most speculate) 2 new engine variants.
