Sprint Customers Now Have Access to Sprint Family Locator on All Web-Enabled Sprint Phones

February 7, 2008--Sprint today announced access to its popular Sprint Family Locator service is available on all Web-enabled Sprint phones, an industry first. Parents on the go now can use any Web-enabled Sprint phone to locate their loved ones with Sprint Family Locator. In addition, more than 100 Sprint phones can be located by the service, including all currently available Sprint phones.

Sprint Customers Get New Location-Aware Shopping Application

06/07/2007 -- Sprint customers can now search and find products at local retailers, see price and availability information, and get directions to the store – all on select Sprint phones. Sprint and GPShopper today announced the launch of Slifter, the first mobile local product search application that employs GPS technology to find products at neighboring retail locations.

Slifter makes real-world shopping more interactive: customers simply enter a keyword, product name, model number or UPC code to find a product. They can then view product availability, price and promotional information. Sprint GPS capabilities ensure the closest possible retailers are identified in the search. Sierra Wireless AirCard 597E ExpressCard to Launch on Sprint Network

May 22, 2007 – Sierra Wireless today announced plans to supply the new Sierra Wireless AirCard® 597E ExpressCard for operation on the Sprint Mobile Broadband EV-DO Rev A network. Designed to provide mobile broadband connectivity for notebook computers with the newer ExpressCard slots, the Sprint Mobile Broadband ExpressCard by Sierra Wireless will be available online at www.sprint.com and in business sales channels beginning in mid-June. Sprint is demonstrating the AirCard 597E ExpressCard this week at Interop, held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas until May 25 (Booth #837).

In addition to its more compact form factor, the AirCard 597E ExpressCard offers several advancements over earlier cards, including built-in assisted GPS (A-GPS) to support location-based services. Using the GPS chipset and the latest version of Sprint Connection Manager, users can conduct a “locate and search,” which plots their current location on a map and then searches for nearby points of interest.
