Sony is a Slacker!

BRAVIA TV with Slacker radio screen Not really … I wrote about the Slacker radio the other day, and now Sony has a press release about Slacker. Randy Waynick, SVP of Sony Electronics’ Home Products Division said recently, “Internet content is expanding faster than ever and Sony is bringing it straight to BRAVIA televisions.”

It is about time, right? To explain what Slacker is briefly … internet radio that you control with DVR functionality. It is more than that, and Sony recognizes this value that it can bring to its core consumers. What stands out to me about this partnership is that Sony rarely (if ever) partners with another company. Something else to take note is the Sony BRAVIA is also integrating Howcast into this strategic partnership.
