Logitech's New Bluetooth Mouse

 Logitech M555b

Logitech today announced their latest notebook mouse with Bluetooth technology, the Logitech Bluetooth Mouse M555b. The mouse features Bluetooth (obviously), Logitech's hyper-fast scroll wheel (or you can switch to click-to-click mode if you don't like to fly through web pages/documents), laser tracking and a low-battery indicator.

Features:

  • Bluetooth wireless technology eliminates the need for a receiver, delivering a powerful cable-free connection
  • Two scroll modes give you the option of hyper-fast scrolling for flying through long documents, or click-to-click scrolling for precision when navigating lists, slides, images, and menus
  • Laser tracking delivers smooth, responsive, precise cursor control on surfaces that cause problems for standard optical mice, such as polished or wood-grain tables (Note: it does not work on glass and mirrors)
  • Efficient power management includes a low-battery indicator to eliminate surprises, a smart sleep mode feature that turns the mouse off after a period of non-use and an on/off switch
  • Programmable buttons: Easily access your favorite functions

Information that was given to me states it will be available later this month for $49.99. But Logitech's website has the price at $59.99.

Hillcrest Labs Announces In-Air Mouse for the TV

 Loop Pointer

Just in time for Father's Day, Hillcrest Labs has launched its Loop pointer for consumers. The Loop pointer is a unique Freespace mouse that lets users control an on-screen cursor with the flick of wrist. It is designed to be used by the growing number of consumers who connect their PC or Mac to a TV.

The Loop features a distinctive design, is round and ergonomic and includes four buttons and a scroll wheel. It's just like any other wireless mouse, but better.

Freespace Technology features:

  • High Accuracy/Precision: highly precise pointer which allows users to point to individual pixels on a high-resolution screen.
  • Orientation Compensation: regardless of the orientation of the device in space, it generates intuitive cursor motions on the screen.
  • Adaptive Tremor Removal: can distinguish between intentional and unintentional movement, including natural hand tremors. The Loop pointer dynamically measures each individual user's specific tremor and unintentional movements and removes them.
  • No Line-of-Site: uses RF (radio frequency) technology, so users do not need to point directly at the computer or TV screen. The Loop pointer is great for at-home use or in the office giving presentations.
