SanDisk Introduces its First Pocketable Video Player: Sansa View

Jan. 9, 2007 – SanDisk just introduced its first widescreen portable media player dubbed the “Sansa® View.” The flash-based Sansa View is a sleek, yet simple video player that supports a wide array of content formats and comes equipped with a flash memory expansion slot. SanDisk Supports Nintendo Wii Launch With Special Gaming Card

November 17, 2006 --SanDisk today announced that it is shipping special edition SanDisk SD memory cards to major retailers in conjunction with the release of Nintendo’s new Wii game console, which is compatible with removable flash memory to store game saves, download games and view digital photos.

The white cards, bearing the label “SanDisk For Wii,” will be available in three capacities – 512 megabytes (MB), 1 gigabyte (GB) and 2GB(1) – at gaming and major consumer electronics stores. Suggested retail prices range from $34.99 to $89.99. “We believe that the Nintendo Wii, with its physically interactive format and compelling games, will be a big hit this holiday season, and these co-branded flash cards will make it easy for gamers to purchase memory that allows for the portability of game saves between Wii consoles,” said Christina Day, SanDisk senior product marketing manager. SanDisk Introduces 4GB miniSDHC Flash Card for Mobile Phones

Sep. 12, 2006 - SanDisk today announced a 4-gigabyte (GB) miniSD High Capacity (SDHC) flash card at the CTIA Wireless Show, where the company is exhibiting in Booth #1147.

The 4GB SanDisk miniSDHC card will be able to provide the fast speed and large capacity required to support increasingly popular but storage-intensive applications such as digital imaging, music and video record/playback functions as well as mobile television and videogames. SanDisk Introduces Sansa c200 MP3 Player with 2-Gigabyte Capacity For Under $100

SEPT. 1, 2006 - SanDisk today introduced the Sansa™ c200 series, a stylish flash memory-based MP3 player that is loaded with high-end features -- such as a bright LCD color screen and a microSD™ expansion slot - and smashes the $100 price threshold for a 2-gigabyte (GB) player. The announcement was made at a press conference at IFA, the world's largest consumer electronics show, where SanDisk is exhibiting at Booth 103, in Hall 2.1 of Messe Berlin, through Sept. 6.

The c200 is sold in two capacities - 1 gigabyte (GB) and 2GB. However, the memory can be expanded with the addition of an optional SanDisk microSD™ card, which currently is available in capacities of from 256 megabytes (MB) to 2GB. For example, with a 2GB microSD card, a user can transform a 2GB player into a 4GB player to hold nearly 2,000 songs (at 64kbps). The c200 supports WMA, MP3 and the protected WMA DRM format that gives consumers the ability to purchase or subscribe to music from most music service providers. Read more
