 SpyderLensCal

Photokina 2010 is taking place later this month, and photographers attending the trade show are in for a special treat. Datacolor will be offering free calibration services using its complete line of Spyder3 monitor calibration products. The company will also be unveiling SpyderLensCal, the new DSLR lens calibration device told you about earlier this week.

Photographers simply need to visit Datacolor's booth to experience Spyder3Elite, Spyder3Pro, and Spyder3Express calibration tools, as well as get a look at SpyderLensCal, the latest addition to the Spyder line. Offering calibration of lenses and autofocus functions on modern DSLR camera bodies, the SpyderLensCal will be unveiled on September 22 at 10:00 AM at Datacolor's booth.

The company will also be presenting the results of its 'Real New York' photo contest. To view Datacolor's full schedule at Photokina, or for more information, visit www.datacolor.com/photokina2010.

"Our presence at Photokina is about more than showcasing the latest in color accuracy and calibration technology," said Christoph Gamper, Vice President, Datacolor Consumer Unit. "Those attending the show share the same passion for photography that we do. Therefore, we want to offer added value to them by providing great service along with expert advice to help bring their craft to another level."

Is a street-legal version of the Porsche RS Spyder being considered!?

 Porsche RS Spyder race car

The last "great" Porsche that was street-legal was the Carerra GT. The Carerra GT came out about 5 years ago. We need a new insane Porsche! Luckily, it seems that Porsche is considering taking their RS Spyder American Le Mans Series (ALMS) race car and tuning it for the street.

The current RS Spyder produces between 485-503hp (362-375kW) and houses a 3.4L V8 engine. The weight clocks in at 1,705lbs (775kg). The LMP2-class RS Spyder has placed or won at the 12 Hours of Sebring and 24 Hours of Le Mans, in addition to other races and the 2006-2008 LMP2 ALMS manufacturer's championships.

The car has an impressive history and makes me want this car to become all the more real. For information on what type of specs a street-legal Porsche RS Spyder may have, click here.
