Okay, Beatles fans! The date has been announced – The Beatles: Rock Band will be in stores on 9/09/09…just six long months from now. It will be released worldwide for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii gaming systems.

The Beatles: Rock Band will be available as standalone software and hardware and they will also have a limited edition bundle. The game will be compatible with all Rock Band instrument controllers, but if you want to rock it Beatles style, a limited number of instruments modeled after those used by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr will be available. The Cars' Debut Album Zooms into the Rock Band Wii Music Store

February 23, 2009 - Harmonix and MTV Games announced today the addition of eight remaining tracks from The Cars’ self-titled 1978 debut album to the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content for Wii home videogame console from Nintendo.

The lineup includes classic rock hits "Good Times Roll," "My Best Friend's Girl," "I’m in Touch with Your World," "Don't Cha Stop," "You're All I've Got Tonight," "Bye Bye Love," "Moving in Stereo" and "All Mixed Up." "Just What I Needed," also featured on The Cars album, was released to the Rock Band Wii music catalog in January.

This week's offering comes from the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content already released to owners of Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system. Wii fans can expect a rollout of the previously released downloadable content until the entire back catalogue of more than 570 songs is available. In addition, the regularly scheduled future DLC releases for Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 system will also be available for Rock Band 2 Wii owners soon. Read more

Rock Band Gives Wii Owners 6 New Downloadable Tracks

January 21, 2009 - Harmonix and MTV Games just announced the addition of six new tracks to the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content for Wii home videogame console from Nintendo. The line up includes “March of the Pigs” and “The Collector” from industrial rockers Nine Inch Nails, “I Fought the Law” from English punk rock band the Clash and “Rockaway Beach” from the infamous punk rock band Ramones. The offering also features two exclusive 2008 Rock Band re-recordings of “Margaritaville” and “Volcano” from singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett.

All six tracks are part of the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content already released to owners of Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system. Wii fans can expect a rollout of the previously released downloadable content every week until the entire back catalogue of more than 500 songs is available. In addition, the regularly scheduled future DLC releases for Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 system will also be available for Rock Band 2 Wii owners starting in February. Read more

Rock Band Music Store Now Available for Wii

January 14, 2009 – Harmonix, the world’s premier music video game development company, and MTV Games, a part of Viacom’s MTV Networks, just announced the online Rock Band Music Store is now live for the Wii home videogame console from Nintendo.

There are now 50 Rock Band Wii tracks available for download in the Rock Band Music Store, including the 20 free Rock Band 2 DLC tracks and 30 additional songs for purchase already released as downloadable content for other console versions. Pearl Jam Brings Band's Debut Album, Ten, to Rock Band

December 15, 2008 – Harmonix, the world’s premier music video game development company, and MTV Games, a part of Viacom’s MTV Networks, today confirmed that Ten, the debut album that sold 12 million copies and introduced the world to Pearl Jam (www.pearljam.com) in 1991, will be offered for download in the Rock Band Music Store day-and-date with the re-issue of the album in stores on March 24, 2009.

Rock Band Goes Country

December 8, 2008 – Harmonix and MTV Games announced today that Rock Band is set to give fans a taste of country music for the first time with the addition of the “Going Country” 5-pack to the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content. The impressive lineup of renowned country artists includes Grammy Award winner Brad Paisley with “Mud on the Tires,” the honky- tonk country classic duo Brooks & Dunn with “Hillbilly Deluxe,” and all-American trio Dixie Chicks with “Sin Wagon.”

Rock Band country lovers can also look forward to Dierks Bentley’s #1 single “Free & Easy (Down the Road I Go)” and Miranda Lambert’s standout single “Gunpowder & Lead.” Each track will be available starting December 16, 2008, for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and December 18, 2008, for PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system. Ship Dates Announced for Rock Band 2

October 16, 2008 – Harmonix, the world’s premier music video game development company, and MTV Games, a part of Viacom’s MTV Networks, along with distribution partner Electronic Arts Inc., today announced that Rock Band 2 for the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system will be available on October 19, 2008.
