Motorola has announced a new cell phone for eco-conscious consumers – the MOTO w233 Renew. Available at T-Mobile stores in February 2009, the Renew’s plastic outer casing is made using recycled water bottles and is 100% recyclable itself! The phone is also the first carbon neutral product and has earned Carbonfund.org’s CarbonFree® Product Certification.
The box and materials inside are even printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Also, a postage-paid recycling envelope is included to make it easy to return your previous mobile phone for recycling. The Renew features nine hours of talk time and has an energy efficient charger to boot.
Other features include: Motorola’s CrystalTalk technology, music player, text and picture messaging, expandable memory card slot (microSD), predictive text input, speakerphone, USB 2.0 port, and is T-Mobile myFaves-enabled.
The MOTO w233 Renew is expected to be available in February at T-Mobile stores and online at www.T-Mobile.com. Pricing TBA.
