Verbatim today announced their new InSight Portable USB Hard Drives. The two drives, in 320GB and 500GB capacities, feature an Always On display that calculates and displays available free space – even when disconnected from the computer.

Verbatim's new InSight Portable Hard Drives weigh less than 6 ounces, and measure just 6 in. x 3.4 in. x 0.63 in. The 2.5" drives have a 5400rpm spindle speed and also feature 8MB of cache memory. The first portable HDD is the water-resistant and shock-proof SimpleTOUGH portable USB drive. It will be available in 250, 320, 500GB at $99.99, $119.99, $149.99 respectively. Developed by A-DATA Technologies, the thickness of the NH92 HDDs is 12mm with a weight 152g. The NH92 comes encased in aluminum and in three different colors, light sliver, cherry pink and ocean blue. The colors are to help match the various, and stylish, netbooks that are available today.
