KODAK Announces Battery Powered Digital Picture Frame


 KODAK EASYSHARE S730 Digital Picture Frame

The KODAK EASYSHARE S730 Digital Picture Frame features a built-in rechargeable battery that enables consumers to bring it from the shelf or table into the hands of family and friends for more intimate sharing of moments and memories. The frame also boasts a new Picture Finder feature, enabling users to easily and quickly bring to life images and videos from special moments in time.

The S730 also comes with 1GB of internal memory (store up to 8,000 pictures), mercury-free LCD panel and touch sensitive controls. You can also play videos or add music to your slideshows. Also included is the KODAK EASYSHARE Digital Display Software that allows users to synchronize with the pictures on their computer and create slideshows.

The KODAK EASYSHARE S730 Digital Picture Frame will be available throughout Europe for Euro 149 beginning in June, 2009, and in the United States and Canada for $139 US beginning September, 2009.

LEICA Announces the D-LUX 4 Safari

LEICA just announced a new special edition D-LUX 4 Safari digital camera. While with the same olive green outdoor look as the LEICA M8.2 Safari announced earlier this year, the D-LUX 4 Safari is the first compact digital cam offered in this special edition.

The D-LUX 4 Safari is the same camera as the D-LUX 4, only with a "safari" green finish. It features a 3-inch LCD display, Leica f/2.0-2.8 DC Vario-Summicron ASPH high speed, extra-wide-angle 24-60mm equivalent zoom lens, an oversized 1/1.63- inch, 10.1-megapixel CCD image sensor, Face Detection, Intelligent Auto mode, Optical Image Stabilization, and can record lossless RAW files as well as JPEGs.

A waterproof carrying case is also included with the camera. The back of the case has a compartment with a nylon "rain cape" that can be pulled out to cover the case and protect it from…well…rain (or other elements).

This limited edition LEICA D-LUX 4 Safari will be available in August 2009 for $995.

Eye-Fi Unveils 4GB Wireless SDHC with RAW Image Support!

The Eye-Fi Pro is a new wireless SDHC memory card for digital cameras that allows users to automatically upload images straight from their camera to their computer and the Web. The Eye-Fi Pro includes RAW image support and peer-to-peer connectivity for a direct connection between the camera and a computer.

Also announced from Eye-Fi, is a new feature, Selective Transfer. It will give users more control over which photos and videos to upload. Using the standard "protect" or "lock" feature in any camera's menu, users can select which files to wirelessly upload. Any "protected" photo or video will automatically be uploaded, and all photos and videos will remain on the memory card until the user manually deletes them. Selective Transfer is free and available now for all Eye-Fi card users through the Eye-Fi Manager.

Panasonic Announces World's Lightest HD Camcorders

The Panasonic HDC-SD10 and HDC-TM10 weigh just 0.5 LB, yet still features a 16x optical zoom, touch screen and can shoot an amazing 1920 x 1080 Full-HD video. The HDC-SD10 will record to SDHC/SD memory cards as recording media and the HDC-TM10 features Twin Memory, which records onto both an 8 GB built-in memory and an SDHC/SD memory card.

16x optical zoom of the HDC-SD10 and HDC-TM10 is supported by the Advanced O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer). The Advanced O.I.S. corrects hand movements 4,000 times per second! Also, both of these camcorders will feature the iA (Intelligent Auto) function, which automatically sets the most suitable Scene mode according to shooting conditions.

The suggested retail prices of the HDC-SD10 and HDC-TM10 are $549.95 and $599.95 respectively. The TM10 will be available in black and silver models, while the SD10 in black only. All models will be available in September 2009.
