October. 2, 2001—Samsung Opto-Electronics America, Inc. (Samsung Camera), just announced that they have added three new digital cameras (Digimax 50 Duo, Digimax 130 and Digimax 200) to their digital camera line. All the cameras feature teal blue cosmetics, a lightweight, compact design and are ergonomically correct.
“All of our digital cameras are competitively priced,” said Ken Gerb, Senior Vice President of National Sales for Samsung Camera. He said Samsung will launch these three new products with the same winning strategy that has enabled Samsung to reach the #3 position in the 35mm point-and-shoot zoom category. “There’s no other quality manufacturer of digital cameras that offers the consumer more value for their money or more profit for the dealer than Samsung,” said Gerb.
While the Digimax 210SE is the flagship model in the line, Gerb said that he expects the Digimax 130 to be a ‘major player’ in the line and anticipates a large volume of sales due to the camera’s outstanding features and attractive price. “With five digital cameras in our line – and more to come next year – we expect Samsung to be a recognized force within the digital camera marketplace.”
