HP Unveils New Notebooks, Mini PCs

HP just rolled out several new notebook computers, including one with the industry's first 3-D PC surface technology. New to the line-up is the HP Mini 110 by Studio Tord Boontje, the HP ENVY, the HP Pavilion dm3 entertainment notebook, and the HP ProBook 5310m, the world's thinnest full-performance notebook.

The HP Mini 110 by Studio Tord Boontje weighs in at only 2.68 pounds and is just over an inch thin. Features include a 10.1-inch, mercury-free LED display and a 92 percent of full-size keyboard. The HP Mini 110 also is the first to have HP Imprint 3-D, a 3-D PC surface technology. Multiple layers of art on the top cover of the Mini appear to float on the surface while casting shadows onto lower layers to brings depth to the patterns.

A Windows Live Writer desktop icon is included for blogging and fast access to social networking sites. The Mini 110 by Studio Tord Boontje with Windows 7 Starter can be also be personalized with 15 wallpapers, a screen saver and a Stardock MyColors desktop theme – all unique to this product. HP Rolls Out New Pavilion Elite m9600 Series Desktop PC


 HP Pavilion Elite m9600 Series Desktop PC

HP announced anew Pavilion Elite m9600 Series desktops, with complementary widescreen monitors, to consumers for speedy access and reliable performance for multitasking, graphic-intensive files and watching movies.

The standard configuration starts in price at $949 and includes the Intel Core i7 920 processor, NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GS graphics card, 500 GB hard drive and a SuperMulti DVD burner for creating DVDs and CDs with custom labels. For an enhanced gaming and entertainment experience, the m9600 can be customized with a Blu-ray DVD writer and ATI Radeon HD-4850 graphics card.

HP Pavilion Elite m9600 Series options include: Intel Core i7 940 processor, up to 1 terabyte (TB) hard drive and 12 gigabytes (GB) of memory for reliable storage and quick access of multimedia files such as images and videos.

The HP m9600 series comes with two built-in drive bays for the optional HP Personal Media Drive and HP Pocket Media Drive for added storage of photos, music and videos.

HP Pavilion dv2 Ultra-Thin Entertainment Notebook


 HP Pavilion dv2 The Pavilion dv2 is HP’s first 12-inch, 3.8 pound notebook that is under an inch thick. It is also the first system to use AMD's new Athlon Neo Processor-based platform. It features a magnesium casing and a (nearly) full-size keyboard. The dv2 supports optional built-in WWAN for wireless connectivity and includes an HP Webcam, microphone, and an optional disc drive with Blu-ray is available.

The base model comes with a 160GB drive, but it can be configured with up to a 500GB drive. It will be available in two finishes: Espresso and Moonlight.

Other features include HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection for protection from data loss and HP MediaSmart software.

New HP Consumer PCs Combine Performance, Entertainment and Design

January 6, 2009—HP today announced two new thin and light ultra-portable notebook PCs – the HP Pavilion dv2 and HP Pavilion dv3 – plus the HP Firebird with Voodoo DNA, an innovative, high-performance desktop PC.
